What is it?

A ten-year plan with a three-year action plan for the arts sector, the key issues, its viability and its future.

• What’s your vision for art in Nelson/Tasman? What should we be aiming for in the next 3-10 years?

Who can contribute?

Anyone interested in the arts – visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, new media arts, youth focused arts and more. We would like to hear from practitioners, those who work in the sector, those who participate in any way and those who attend the arts. 

 Who’s driving it?

Helen Schamroth, Creationz Consultants, Nelson Tasman Regional Economic Development Agency, Nelson City Council , Tasman District Council, Nelson Bays Arts Advocacy and Marketing Trust , Representatives of the arts sector.

Consultation ends: Monday 30 June 2008

Final Strategy Complete for Approval:  Tuesday 30 September

Nationally recognised arts consultant Helen Schamroth of Creationz Consultants has been appointed as the consultant for the Nelson Tasman regional arts strategy. Helen has been awarded Officer of New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the arts and has wide ranging experience including developing arts strategies and policies, as well as working with artists and the community. She is a practicing artist and writer and has been an advisor, manager and member on many important arts initiatives such as the Council of the Designers Institute of NZ, Artists Alliance and The Big Idea website.
